Norwegian coffee?

In Norway, coffee isn’t just a drink, but also a ritual. A quiet moment in the middle of the day, a reason to pause, to breathe, to look out the window at the snow (or, for the rest of us, the rain).

Norwegian coffee is light, clean, and honest, much like the landscape it comes from. It’s roasted gently to preserve the natural sweetness of the bean, never dark or bitter, always clear and balanced. The result is a cup that feels like crisp mountain air: bright, refreshing, and deeply comforting. We'd like to think that the country with one of the highest coffee consumption in the world would know a thing or two about good coffee.

As a reference to the German lady Melitta Bentz who first invented filter coffee, we are so-named after the German word for “travel document” — Reisepass (rise-suh-pass) — explore the world of coffee with us, one single origin at a time.

At Reisepass, we roast in that same spirit — a nod to Norway’s quiet obsession with good coffee and simple pleasure, and to the inventiveness of Miss Bentz. Every cup we serve carries that philosophy: great quality, less rush, more reflection.

Our coffee is sourced worldwide, and we roast our coffee fresh in Singapore, guided by the light, clean, and expressive profiles we have come to enjoy in Norway. Yes that's right, our coffee is not imported from Norway. Each batch follows the same clarity-focused approach that inspired our journey in the first place.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where do your coffees come from?

We source our beans from trusted farms and smallholder cooperatives around the world — from the highlands of Ethiopia to the mountains of Colombia. Each origin is selected for its unique character and roasted to highlight its natural sweetness and clarity.

2. How are your coffees roasted?

All our coffees are roasted fresh in Singapore, guided by Norwegian-style light roasting principles. This means a cleaner cup, brighter acidity, and a smoother finish — perfect for filter brewing and easy morning drinking.

3. What brewing methods work best?

Our beans are optimised for filter methods such as pour-over, drip bags, Aeropress, and French press. They’re also versatile enough for lighter espresso extractions if you enjoy a brighter, fruit-forward cup.

4. How should I store my coffee?

Keep your coffee sealed in its original bag, away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. For the freshest taste, consume within 3–4 weeks of roasting.

5. How often do you roast?

We roast in small batches weekly to ensure freshness and consistency. Each order is fulfilled with coffee roasted within days, not months.

6. Do you sell whole beans or ground coffee?

We primarily sell whole beans to preserve flavour. However, we offer grind options for drip bags and select products for convenience — perfect for busy mornings or travel.

7. What is “Norwegian-style light roast”?

It’s a roast philosophy rooted in balance and clarity. Rather than chasing intensity, we focus on letting the bean’s natural terroir shine through — a clean, delicate cup that reflects the purity of Scandinavian coffee culture.

8. What does “Reisepass” mean?

Reisepass is the German word for “passport.” It’s a nod to Melitta Bentz, the German woman who invented the first paper filter — and to our belief that every cup of coffee can take you somewhere new.

9. Do you offer subscriptions or wholesale?

Yes. We provide coffee subscriptions for individuals who love exploring different origins, and wholesale options for cafés or offices. Reach out to us at reisepasscoffee@gmail.com for details.

10. Where can I buy your coffee?

You can order directly from our website or find us at selected events and pop-ups across Singapore. Follow us on Instagram for our latest releases and appearances.
